ZEN-SHIN BLACK BELT ACADEMY LTD Birmingham witnessed Combat Hall of Fame Awards" Ceremony at the prestigious Aston Villa Banqueting Suite on Saturday 26th November 2011, Combat Magazine Editor Paul Clifton hosted over 400 Martial Arts very Best Individuals.
Birmingham based Zen Shin Karate Association, Kyoshi John Richards 7th Dan, was among the recipients being awarded a plaque for his 'Outstanding Commitment and Devotion to the Development of Martial Arts in the United Kingdom and the World. Kyoshi John Richards said, "he was absolutely thrilled to be recognised among some of the worlds best Martial Arts individuals, Martial Arts gave him something that no other job or sport could ever offer". The accolade bestowed upon him on Saturday night proved that hard work, dedication and a strong family support system helped him be the man he is today. John, was supported by many of his students which he regards as an extension of his family and looks forward to proving to his students that their hobby can turn to something great giving a sense of achievement and great pride. |

A huge thanks to all the people that have sponsered and supported our team for the WKA world Championships 2011 in Karlsruhe, Germany. This years sponser money ment that the squad was able to compete in more events which ment more chance to win more medals. We were very successful this year bringing home 10 gold medals, 1 sliver medal and 8 bronze medals. Well done to everyone that took part in this years world championship. We would like to give specail thanks to Cooper and Jordan school, Aldriddge and Lime Hairdressers, High Street Aldridge, David Hewett, Nadim, Shammi, Cairo Dodd, Harrison Dodd, Sabrina, Shontia and Mike James for help rasising money. The Squad is now looking forward to compete in the next WKA world championships which will be held in Florida in 2012.

You are invited to our forthcoming National Open Karate Championships, which will be held at the Birmingham City University Doug Ellis Sports Centre Perry Barr Birmingham B42 2SY on Sunday 15th May 2011.
If you came 1st 2nd or 3rd in your category at the
Zen-Shin Karate Open Congratulations, you have qualified for the WKA World Championships. All places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. This year in Karlsruhe/Germany! 21.08. - 28.08.2011 You are invited to the Squad training sessions, the dates will be annoced at a later date. To secure your place in the WKA England squad for the World Championships in Karlsruhe/Germany a deposit of £150 is required by 31st May 2011.
